Here's how I seek inspiration to work - from my Dad.

My father is the most industrious personality that I've ever seen. He has got 2 daughters to get married, and many people from our family suffer red majored illnesses, and he has a built a home for us; yet he has been able to run our family out of debts, even before I've started earning a single rupee.
I know I'm not a morning person - rising with sun is a difficult thing for me, wherein waking up at 3 O' clock everyday is a routine to my father. He then starts to the work he is the most skill-fulled at [agriculture]; he does the job of a tractor driver, meanwhile. I couldn't even learn to ride a motorbike, on the contrary.
His skills are multi-faced. He told me this once - "Learn to do every sort of work and leave it aside a corner of your brain. It will come in handy along your way, someday."
He can effortlessly do that job of working in the fields through which he fed us. He can even repair a cycle. He drives a motorbike or a tractor well. He was once a tailor. He is much more interested in cricket than me. He loves movies and used to go about theaters when he was young, now he rarely does that.
He has good relationships with everyone we know in the village, although all of the people are from a different caste and class than us. Everywhere I go in my village, I do remember the respectful feeling people show when I say my father's name - Srinivasa Reddy.
On the other side of the coin, he easily gets angry if he doesn't like things. He has a lot of self-respect that only a few people posses. He is a conservative lower-middle class Indian father who raised his kids based on the values and traditions of ancient India. For that reason, my sisters didn't have a choice in their marriages, yet they are happy for their partners. Like many fathers who have daughters, he was insecure and didn't want to let them to study beyond tenth standard.
My father is a friend to my friends too. My friend would get a call, if a call to me goes unanswered. He always make sure I'm eating and sleeping on time [which I normally don't do]. And he thinks long-term, for the benefit of my future, all the time.
His love is overwhelming at times. The only man on the Earth who gives a lot more love than I could ever expect!
To conclude, here is a poem I've found in a beautiful app called Notegraphy, and I rephrased as below:
Daddy,
In your eyes, I have seen God's Love,
Through your words, I have heard his wisdom,
And from your life, I have felt his grace.
If the God above loves me,
This God below lives for me.
I owe my life to you Dad. You are always my God.

A Week of Deep Work

At the beginning of this week, I was determined to be disciplined. I was weary of staying back late at work, sleeping with blazing eyes, and not being able to call family everyday, and not finding time to reflect on my life — a seriously untidy way of living. I took a paper and pen, and started scribbling out a plan for my work week. After I finished several pages of what looked like a toddler’s doodles, I was ready with a schedule. The Goal#1 was to leave office on time! I don’t work in a high pressure environment, yet I’d been staying back late, thanks to the endless list of things that compete for my attention and ruin my concentration. I decided to bring a change in me, for real this time. I had written up many schedules earlier, but they only lived on paper. But now I chose to live the story. The first change I made in my way of life is waking up early, at 7AM (may not be early for some; someday I wish I’d join the 5AM club) I started the day off with a little ex...

Distance is the key - A memoir | 24th October

Fifteen years ago , a vivacious young girl charmed the heart of an innocent boy. Smelled like a jasmine, fairer than the full moon, quick of wit and of humour, well-behaved and kind-hearted girl she was, got everyone wanted to be around her. Introverted by nature, modest with behaviour, he never expressed his unflinching admiration to her. Time progressed , and she proved to be a star at school, walking over ranks and rewards. But he was stuck at the same place, smothered by her fragrance, awestruck at her elegance. Guilty of the defeat , he disappeared like smoke, pulling himself away from her. But he couldn't draw success any closer. Days turned even darker. And then she appeared , like landed straight from Heaven, out of nowhere in front of him. In a sparkling white outfit, fearlessly burning loud crackers, she was spreading smiles and joy to the children and the world around her. And to him , it was a moment of great luck! Opportunities knoc...
